At Romeo RIM, our success is a reflection of our hard-working, dedicated team in all facets of operations, from the production floor to quality control and customer service to office operations. Our customers are not the only ones who know this, as shown by the industry leading media outlet Plastics News recognizing our Chief Financial Officer, Michelle Bourdage who was a finalist for 2017 CFO of the Year.
Michelle was considered for the award along with three other talented professionals, including the eventual CFO of the Year Glenn Fish, a veteran of the packaging industry, who received the award earlier this month at the 2017 Plastics News Financial Summit in Chicago.
Michelle, who studied accounting at Michigan-based schools Macomb Community College and Walsh College, was interviewed by Plastics News for a feature article appearing online and in a special sections of the publication’s print edition that just came out this week. The article detailed Michelle’s background and experience, and included her insights on being a CFO.
She was quoted in the article, “I try to look at the whole organization,” she said. “Part of the thing that I think is important is being seen through the organization. … As a result of that, I am able to offer solutions that are not just maybe the gatekeeper of finances, but also solutions that help the business move forward.”
The 2017 Plastics News CFO of the Year Award honors top individuals in senior management at plastics processing companies based in North America. Members of Plastics News and an independent panel of judges including financial practitioners, top plastics executives, and members of government and academia selected finalists based on excellence in financial or other corporate operational management and their contributions to the community.
Candidates were employees of companies that derive at least 50 percent of their sales from plastics-related components such as parts, equipment or other materials. Romeo RIM fit in well with this category, thanks to our advanced manufacturing technology for long fiber injection (LFI) combining lightweight, class A finish with high-gloss in-mold finish, B-side detail and high stiffness and strength. This combination of features is not available in other technologies or at the size and scale that Romeo RIM can produce for very large, complex parts with dimensional stability and impact resistance at low temperatures (-40C).
