Romeo RIM has a long-standing commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship in manufacturing, striving to minimize energy and resource consumption and waste generated in our reaction injection molding processes and facilities.
We track and regularly review environmental manufacturing metrics at each of our facilities, including kilowatts of power used per hour and per pound of resin, gallons of acetone reclaimed from paint operations and pounds of waste generated, as part of our focus on continually improving our processes and investing in new energy-efficient systems, technology and equipment to reduce our energy and resource consumption and waste.
Some recent examples of our energy reduction efforts and focus include:
– Facility design and renovations focused on energy-efficient systems and construction
– Investment in energy-efficient reaction injection molding machines
– Use of returnable packaging whenever possible, such as plastic pallets and reusable racks as opposed to cardboard and wood
Waste reduction and recycling are another major focus of our sustainable manufacturing efforts. At each of our facilities we track environmental metrics and continually seek ways to reduce waste – from reducing scrap on the manufacturing floor to using less paper. Waste metrics are posted within the facilities to keep team members aware of our progress.
Romeo RIM also works with our customers on sustainability in design. We have invested in new energy-efficient robotic reaction injection molding machines and coating systems.

At Romeo RIM, we take our environment seriously. Our environmental coordinator, Wade Spurlin, talks about the steps we take to ensure we do not pollute our beautiful 65 acres of land. Much of which are wooded or wetland.
