At Romeo RIM we pride ourselves on our ability to field an experienced workforce that combines years of technical and industry knowledge with a spirit of creativity. Our culture is one of servant leadership, with a focus on the growth and well-being of all employees and management within the company, putting the needs of others first and helping people develop and perform at a high level.
That’s one reason our CEO Randy Johnson was outside recently, removing a torn automobile seat cushion from the Romeo RIM campus.
Randy was one of dozens of Romeo RIM employees who took the time to celebrate Earth Day, carving out part of their busy workday to plod through our vast 67.5 acres and search for garbage and other things littering the environment. Our location next to a busy road with lots of truck traffic lends itself, unfortunately, to an awful lot of trash blowing off and out of vehicles. Much of it ends up in the woods and lawns throughout our campus, buried for months under the Michigan snow and ice, emerging each Spring.
Although Earth Day itself is much more organized — beginning in 1970, it continues to be widely celebrated in 192 countries, coordinated by the nonprofit Earth Day Network, involving more than a billion people every year — we’re still proud of the fact that each year our employees take the time to clean up other people’s trash. It’s certainly not mandatory, yet people make the effort. They get paid regardless of whether they participate or not; still, Romeo RIMmers are out there.
This speaks to the type of people who seem to gravitate to working at Romeo RIM. Smart, experienced, innovative workers who pride themselves on high-quality engineering design and custom material formulation at the front end, along with excellent delivery and customer support at the back end.
The trust we have in our talented, dedicated employees enables us to confidently invest heavily in new, state-of-the-art technology to better service our customers in the transportation, heavy truck, agriculture and construction, spa, and rail car markets.
In just a few weeks, we’ll be flipping the switch on a major new manufacturing system, taking our ability to produce lightweight, class A finish, and b-side detail products with superior stiffness and strength to a whole new level. The introduction of this system will be fully supported by our employee’s commitment to lean manufacturing in our quest to continue to offer a unique combination of material formulation, long fiber reinforcement in product sizes larger than anyone else can make.
On top of all that, we’ll have one of the cleanest manufacturing campuses around.
